CTET July Eligibility Criteria 2024
Candidates must first be informed of the qualifying conditions in order to apply for the CTET 2024. Different qualifying conditions are used to choose candidates for teaching positions in classes 1 through 5 and classes 6 through 8. Let's take a closer look at the educational prerequisites, nationality restrictions, and age limit that applicants must fulfill in each of these categories.
Nationality
A the applicant needs to be an Indian citizen to be eligible to apply for the exam.
Age Limit
Candidates do not need to be a certain age to apply for the exam; the minimum age is 17.
Educational Qualification
The following are the requirements for eligibility to take the TET/CTET exam:
For Paper-I (Teaching Classes I to V):
- Candidates must have passed the 12th grade (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks.
- They were required to complete or pass a 2-year Elementary Education Diploma (D.El.Ed), a 4-year Elementary Education Bachelor's Degree (B.El.Ed), or a 2-year Special Education Diploma.
- As an alternative, applicants must possess a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree and have graduated with at least 50% of the possible points.
For Paper-II (Teaching Classes VI to VIII):
- Candidates must have completed graduation with at least 50% marks
- They should be in the last year of a one-year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) program or have already finished one. a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education, or a B.Ed.(Special Education) degree, or a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) with at least 45% marks.
- Alternatively, candidates must have passed the 12th grade (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and passed or be in the final year of either a 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed), a B.A/B.Sc.Ed, or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.
- Additionally, candidates with a qualified B.Ed. candidates may take the TET/CTET exam if they have completed a program approved by the NCTE.
