KTET Examination 2024 Syllabus

The previously KTET Curriculum has four sections: The language Classroom Teachers, Specialized educators, and Physical Education Teachers (the group 4); the Higher Secondary Classes (Group 3); Upper Region Primary Classes (Group 2); and Lower Primary Classes (Group 1). Each group has a different set of topics and program. Please go through the Kerala State TET Curriculum, which has been made available below per topic, for applicants.

Child Development and Learning	The techniques for researching kid behavior include psychological examinations, research projects, interviews, and observation. Concept of development Principles of growth and development The environmental and genetic factors' effects on human development Concept of learning Basic theories of learning: Conditioning (Pavlov, Skinner); Insight learning (Gestalt); cognitive learning (Piaget, Bruner and Vygotsky) Learning-development relationship: learner maturity preparedness Piaget, Kohlberg and Vygotsky: Constructs and critical perspectives. Concept of child-centred and progressive education - Activity-based method of Teaching and Learning, Problem Based Learning Critical perspectives of the construct of intelligence (Theories of Spearman, Guilford, Thurstone and Gardner). Language and Thought (Basic perspectives of Piaget, Chomsky and Vygotsky). Gender as a social construct: Gender roles, gender bias and educational practice Individual differences among learners, understanding differences based on diversity of language, caste, gender, community, religion etc., Distinction between - Assessment for learning and Assessment of learning - school-based Assessment (Internal assessment) Continuous and comprehensive evaluation: Perspectives and practice Assessing learner achievement - grading Personality development - the concept of personality and basic approaches to personality (Psychoanalytic and Trait) - Adjustment mechanisms

KTET Syllabus for Category 4

Child Development, Pedagogy & Teacher Aptitude	The questions in the exam will be based on understanding the characteristics, needs and psychology of diverse learners, interaction with the learners and the attributes and qualities of a good facilitator of learning.
Language: Malayalam/English/Tamil/Kannada	The language test (Malayalam/ English/ Tamil/ Kannada) will focus on proficiency related to the medium of instruction.
Subjects specific paper (Content & Pedagogy)	The subject-specific areas test will focus on the pedagogical understanding, concepts and problem-solving abilities in these subjects. The test is evenly distributed over different divisions of the syllabus of that subject as prescribed for classes 1 to 8 by SCERT Kerala.
