CLAT Eligibility Criteria 2025 

Applicants must confirm their ability to fulfill the requirements in order to be qualified to take The Common Law Application Test the year 2025 when they complete an examination registration. The web page of the Association of NLUs satisfies the necessary qualification requirements. In order to take the admissions examination, you need to apply only if you fulfill these criteria.

A brief description regarding the qualification requirements is provided in each of the following sections.

Nationality 

  • In order to be qualified for entrance to law school at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, non-resident aliens and Indian nationals have to apply through The Common Law Application Test the year 2025.
  • While foreign applicants are granted admission to Nationally Licensed Universities, they do not have to appear for the The Common Law Application Test examination.The process that the relevant NLU has set will determine their admittance.

Age Limit

There are not a maximum age requirement for those applying established by the The Consortium of Nationally Licensed Universities, the organization in charged with arranging the examination.

CLAT UG Eligibility 

To be eligible to appear in CLAT 2025 for Undergraduate programmes, candidates must have passed their 10+2 (or equivalent) with the minimum prescribed percentage of marks. 

In the initial qualification examinations, the following specific score minimums are needed:

  • For General/ OBC/ PwD/ NRI/ PIO/ OCI categories: 45% marks 
  • Applicants throughout people of SC/ST: forty percent of the overall achieve

Note: 

  • Candidates who have not yet passed their qualifying exam (10+2) but shall be appearing in the same in March-April 2025 can also participate in the CLAT 2025 exam. 
  • These people are required to submit proof confirming they completed the examination when they get accepted to the university or institution of higher learning. If they fail to do so, they shall not be granted  admission even if they have cleared the CLAT exam. 
  • All candidates are required to submit their 10+2 results at the time of admission to  the university. Those who fail to do so will lose their eligibility for the course they  have applied to. 
Postgraduate Requirement for The Common Law Application Test

Candidates who wish to appear in the CLAT 2025 PG exam must possess a Ll.B. Any level or an undergraduate corresponding that meets the minimum amount needed. Following below are the details:

  • For applicants under the age of one of the following categories such as a general, the OBC, PwD, NRI, PIO, and OCI fifty per cent percentile
  • Potential staff members who belong to the Scheduled Caste: forty five overall

Note: 

The applicants are able to register and participate for the examination in the month of December 2023 when they are in the last year in law college. They normally take the required test in either April or May of the year 2025.
